WORCESTER- Abdulbabatunde "AB" Pearson, 73, passed away on April 9, 2021 at UMass Medical Center.
He was born in Manhattan, New York on September 30, 1947 a son of Marvin and Laura (Wilson) Pearson. He was raised in Worcester and attended local schools before enlisting in the United States Navy to proudly serve his country. Upon his discharge he began a career in Fire Service. He was employed as a Firefighter in the City of Worcester before relocating to California where he began working for the San Diego Fire Department. Later after moving to Seattle, AB was employed as a Firefighter / EMT for the City of Seattle until his retirement.
He loved fishing, hiking, motorcycle rides on the backroads, watching Western & Star Trek movies. He enjoyed photography, writing scripts and his reggae music. He also loved his herbal medicine.
He leaves behind his children, Carol R. Pearson-Lacour (Jonas Lacour) of Houston, TX; Joy L. (Pearson) Wiggins of Los Angeles, CA, Anthony Alston of Worcester, MA; Nicole N. (Pearson) Bell (Joshua Bell) of Hubert, NC, Kayla C. (Pearson) Molner (Dakota Molner) of Boise, ID and Paulette L. Pearson of St. Augustine, FL; his siblings, Benetta L. (Pearson) Kuffour (Ben Kuffour), Worcester, MA; Yaniyah Pearson (Aleah Long) of Newburgh, NY; Jewell Pearson of Los Angeles, CA; One surviving aunt, Paula (Wilson) Fisher; he also leaves 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who loved him.
He was predeceased by his mother, Laura E. Pearson, his father, Marvin Pearson, a brother, George E. Pearson, and his son, Jamal A. Pearson.
AB's funeral services will be held privately. The Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
