WORCESTER-Adele T. (Cardwell) Wheeler of 62 Brantwood Rd. passed away Mon., Nov. 26 surrounded by her family.
She leaves her husband of 52 years, Richard S. Wheeler; her three children, Judith M. and her husband Andrew Doremus of Worcester, Donna-Marie and her husband Gary Card of Auburn and Richard M. Wheeler of Worcester; her brother, Thomas V. Cardwell, Jr. and his wife Rita of Templeton; three grandchildren, Jessica Doremus, Dylan Doremus and Matthew Card, nieces and nephews. Her brother, Dennis J. Cardwell predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Thomas V. Cardwell, Sr. and Emma (Pastorelli) Cardwell and graduated from Commerce High School. Mrs. Wheeler worked as an operator for the New England Telephone Company and then as a cafeteria worker in the Worcester Schools. She was a member of Christ the King Church. She enjoyed shopping, going to Foxwoods and her summer vacations at Hampton Beach with her family and friends. Adele was most happy spending time with her loving children and grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday, November 30 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Church 1052 Pleasant St. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, Nov. 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
