DOUGLAS - Adeline Ann Bek passed away peacefully in her home on February 22, 2018 in Douglas, MA.
She was born in Worcester and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Valeria (Taflinski) Antkowiak and raised in Oxford where she graduated from Oxford High School. She was the beloved wife of Stephen S. Bek who passed away in 1977. Mrs. Bek attended the Barbizon School of Design in New York City and also The College of the Holy Cross. She was the co-owner of Bek's Fuels Inc. in Manchaug for many years.
Mrs. Bek was active in many local organizations including the Worcester Art Museum, Worcester Opera, VFW, Mass Federation of Republican Women of Boston, World Affairs Ambassador Counsel of Boston, charter member of the Republican National Committee as well as past president and treasurer of both the Worcester Foundation of Experimental Biology Auxilliary and the Worcester Republican Women's Club.
She leaves behind her loving children, Stephen S. Bek, Jr., and his wife, Mary of Douglas; Caroline J. Rellstab and her husband, Carl of Worcester and Nancy A. Bek of Worcester; one granddaughter, Lauren E. Bek; nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services and entombment in Notre Dame Mausoleum with her husband Stephen S. Bek, will be held privately and are in the care of Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Memorial donations may be made to the Whitinsville Christian School, 279 Linwood Ave., Whitinsville, MA 01588.
