Aghavny (Kasparian) Tovmassian

Aghavny (Kasparian) Tovmassian, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 3rd at home in Worcester, with her husband of 61 years and son Vicken by her side.

Aghavny was born in Aleppo, Syria on January 24, 1938 and is the daughter of the late Yeznig and Zabel Kasparian. She leaves behind a husband Garabed and two sons Jack & wife Tammy and Vicken. Four brothers, and a sister, Hovanes and Dawn Kasparian and Melene & Lori and children, Haroot Kasparian and Karen & Susan and family, Vartkes Kasparian and Gail, Gregory, and Jenna, Arpi Kasparian, and Raffi and Maral and family, and the late Donabed Kasparian. Also, many nieces and nephews – Sossi Tovmassian, Ani Tovmassian, and Hagop Tovmassian, Dina Himmat, also Genavive Tovmassian, Souren Tovmassian, Virginia Tovmassian, and families from around the globe.

She was a devout member of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Trinity Church and community. Catering all types of church events and activities. Gave generous contributions to many other churches and charities. She was responsible for the hatch kar memorial at the church for the fallen Armenians of the Genocide. St. Steven's Church godparents.

Catering and having fun at church gatherings was what made her the happiest. She was a member of The Daughters of Vartan. Church chorale, fundraisers, and assorted community events.

She enjoyed volunteering at mechanics hall and had a wonderful time with all the venues there. She was a teachers aid in the Worcester schools for over 30 years and worked with children with disabilities. Well known for cooking and catering throughout her life in the Worcester community. Also thought cooking for many years at Nightlife in Worcester.

We want to thank all the hospice staff and VNA nurses for all their efforts and challenging work. Also, a shoutout to Marianna – one of her best friends - for all the food and care that she brought to the family. Also, Lisa for being a close friend in these times of trouble and need.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Tuesday, March 8th with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove St. Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
