Agnes M. (Trudel) Reidy, 94, of the Christopher House passed away peacefully Saturday, April 1, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Lynn and was the daughter of Alfred and Agnes (Sheehan) Trudel. She lived in Worcester all of her life. She worked for the City of Worcester as a dispatcher for the Worcester Police Department for many years. After retirement she the spent her remaining years doing charity work for the Catholic Charities. She enjoyed making people happy through dressing dolls and crocheting. She found great joy in helping others. She was a special lady who touched many hearts and will be sadly missed.

She had recently celebrated her 94th birthday during which she revealed her secret for longevity. "I think having a good nature, trying to be cheerful and happy and trusting in the Lord keeps me going." Her most prized possession was a plague from Pope Paul II, bestowing an apostolic blessing.

She is survived by one son, Francis Reidy, husband of Janet Reidy, two daughters, Mary Reidy DeMaio, wife of Robert DeMaio, and Theresa Reidy. She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Constance Reidy who was married to her son, James Reidy, who predeceased Agnes. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Agnes was predeceased by three grandchildren: Timothy, Michael, and Paul Reidy; and four brothers: Alfred, George, Charles and Joseph. She also leaves a sister, Catherine Ferraro and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, April 4, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 11am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30am on the morning of the funeral at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christopher House, 10 Mary Scano Dr. Worcester, 01605 or to the Sisters of Mercy, 101 Barry Rd., Worcester, 01609.
