Aida L. Nieves Borrero

WORCESTER-Aida L. Nieves Borrero, 87, of Worcester passed away Saturday, September 14 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center.

Her husband of 54 years, Felix Colon died in 2008. She leaves five children, Olga Colon and her husband Sarrail Morales, Melanio Colon, Carmen and her husband, Michael Merzigian, Manuel Colon and his wife, Glennys Valenzuela, and Aurea I. Colon; ten brothers and sisters; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Three children, Miguel Colon, Ada Colon and Felix Colon; four brothers and a sister, predeceased her. She was born in, Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, daughter of Domingo Nieves and Aurea Borrero.

She worked for many years in a Hospital in Puerto Rico, before retiring. She was a member of the Cathedral of Saint Paul.

Visiting Hours are Friday, September 20 from 9:00-10:30am at Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am in the Cathedral of Saint Paul, 15 Chatham St. Burial will be private at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cathedral of Saint Paul.
