WORCESTER-Albert J. Parker, 83, of 18 Gage Street, formerly of Northborough, died Monday, January 8 in UMASS Memorial Healthcare. He leaves a nephew, three nieces, many close cousins and his close friend Les E. Duhamel. He was predeceased by a sister, Marion Thornton, a brother, Thomas E. Parker, a niece, Ann Marie Andrews and a nephew, Edward M. Parker.
He was born in Worcester, son of George J. and Mary M. (Ratchford) Parker and graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II serving on the USS Taluga. Mr. Parker worked at Wyman Gordon Company for 33 years retiring in 1985.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 12 in Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held the morning of the funeral from 10:00 until the time of the service. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
