WORCESTER-Alexandria (George) Bardho, 91, of Worcester passed away at the Jewish Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family.
Her husband Mike Bardho died in 1984. She leaves two daughters, Eileen M. and her husband, Michael Roach of Worcester and Karen A. and her husband, William Balunis of Boylston; three grandchildren, Shannon Balunis, Matthew and his wife, Allison Roach and Taylor Balunis; six siblings, Elaine Dionis, Sophie George, Cleo George, Gus George, Anna Pillary and Jean George all of Worcester and nieces and nephews. Three siblings, Naomi Veshi, Catherine Costa and Mary George, predeceased her. She was born in Bradford, PA daughter of Peter and Angeline (John) George and graduated from Bradford High School.
Alexandria worked for the original Near East Company in Worcester, for many years before retiring.She was a longtime member and active in the woman's guild of Saint Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church. Alexandria enjoyed playing cards with family, watching the Red Sox and listening to albanian music. Most important of all was her love of her faith and time spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
The Visting Hour will be held Friday, April 3 from 10 to 11 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in Saint Mary's Assumption Albanian Church, 535 Salisbury Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church or to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, 01609.
