WORCESTER-Alice M.(Stead)Mara, 103, formerly of 769 Main Street, died Friday, February 24 in The Meadows of Leicester. Her husband, Mathew Mara died in 1960. She leaves several cousins, including Howard Martin of Auburn and David Martin of Worcester.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Vernon and Emma (Fairbanks) Stead. Mrs. Mara worked in the clothing office at Worcester State Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 28 in Hope Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler Street is directing arrangements. lindquistlundin.com
