WOONSOCKET, RI- Alphonse Georges, 85, died Monday, January 11, 2021.
Alphonse was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on August 4, 1935 and has lived in the United States for 49 years. He lived in Worcester and Stamford CT for many years before moving to Woonsocket. Alphonse worked at the Belmont Home as a certified nursing assistant for many years before retiring. He enjoyed playing the guitar. Alphonse liked to keep active and would often play tennis, go jogging and he also maintained a regular morning exercise routine. He loved to watch soccer and would follow all the World Cup teams.
Alphonse was predeceased by his wife, Marie (Augustine) Georges. He is survived by five children; Carl Georges of Upton, Alphonse Georges, Jr. of Sarasota, FL, Murielle Georges of Cliffside Park, NJ, Manisha Georges of Woonsocket, RI and Mae-Dell Georges of Cranston, RI and two grandchildren, Alianna and Atavia Georges. He was predeceased by a sister, Irma Richmond and two brothers, Andre Pierre and Jacques Sezar.
Visiting Hours to celebrate Alphonse's life will be held Wednesday, January 13th from 5:00 until 7:00pm at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. His Funeral Service is Thursday, January 14th at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester.
