BOYLSTON-Andrew R. Bunikis, II, 86, passed away Saturday, February 21 surrounded by his family.

His wife, Estelle M. (Beauregard) Bunikis passed away in 2000. He leaves his two loving children, Andrew R. Bunikis, III of Richmond, ME and Kathleen Adams of Worcester; two grandchildren, Jesse, Tracy and Danielle and one great granddaughter, Cheyenne.

He was born in Worcester the son of Andrew R. and Isabelle (Dulbis) Bunikis. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School and attended Clark University. Mr. Bunikis served in WW II and Korea serving in the Merchant marines, Coast Guard and Navy. He worked as a civil engineer with Thompson and Liston Associates in Boylston before retiring. He served as Selectman for 8 years and Town Assessor for many years retiring in 2008 for the Town of Boylston. He was given the designation of Grand Marshall of the 2007 Memorial Day Parade. Mr. Bunikis was a member of the Massachusetts Beach Buggies Association and enjoyed and supported American Legion Baseball. He was an avid fisherman and boater. His hands were a gift; he could fix, repair or build almost anything.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 4 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross St. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. Memorial contributions may be made to West Boylston American Legion Baseball, 159 Hartwell St., West Boylston, MA 01583. Arrangements are under the care of FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W.
