WORCESTER-Andrew W. Laverty, 41, of Worcester passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021.
He leaves his wife of almost six years, Shalon B. (Helie) Laverty; a son, Matthew Laverty; a daughter, Lilyana Laverty; his parents, William P. Laverty, Jr. and Anne (Donoghue) Laverty both of Worcester; a brother, Sean Laverty of Worcester; a sister, Julie Laverty and her husband, Patrick Warren of Natick; four nieces and nephews, Keira, Cian, Connor and his godson, Finnegan, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Andrew graduated from Worcester Vocational High School, where he was the captain of his hockey team. He worked as a recovery specialist at the Washburn House in Worcester and most recently worked at Paramount Fence Company in Worcester. He loved summer vacations to his family's favorite spot, Old Orchard Beach in Maine. Andrew took great pride in his heritage and loved all things Irish. Almost everyone will remember Andy with his beaming smile under his favorite Notre Dame hat or scaly cap.
He loved sports, especially tennis, basketball, softball and football and his competitive spirit was a force. You could always find Andrew playing golf whenever and wherever he could. He was a big Bruins fan and still loved to compete on the ice. Most of all Andrew enjoyed spending time with his family. His children, Matty and Lily, brought him so much joy and he cherished his time with them and his loving wife. His laugh was contagious and he loved being around people and having a good time. His rebellious spirit and charming nature will be greatly missed, but not forgotten.
We wish to thank Dr. Erik Garcia for his compassionate care. May Andrew Rest In Peace and until we meet again, may his spirit bring us courage and laughter even in our sorrow.
