Andrew Andy Shadbegian

WORCESTER-Andrew "Andy" Shadbegian, 102, of Worcester, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in Rose Monahan Hospice Home. His wife Jeanne M. (Sardagnola) Shadbegian died in 1994. He leaves his sister Anna Shadbegian of Worcester; two nephews and a cousin and caregiver, Lauren Gilkison of Holliston. A brother Archie Shadbegian predeceased him in 1993.
Andy was born in Worcester, son of the late Oscar and Myrene (Bogosian) Shadbegian and he graduated from North High School. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He retired from the former Crompton and Knowles Loom Works after 47 years as a clerk and timekeeper in the cost department. Andy was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour where he served on the Consecration Committee, Bingo Committee and was a member of the Avaks. Andy was the oldest living member of the first Armenian Church in Worcester. He was a life member of the DAV, and a member of Isaiah Thomas Lodge A.F. & A. M.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 1 at 11:00 AM in The Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street. Burial will be private in Hope Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
