Ann M. Schiavone

SHREWSBURY-Ann M. (Perry) Schiavone, 77, of Shrewsbury, died Monday, June 8 at home surrounded by friends and family. Her husband of 38 years, Joseph D. Schiavone died in 1989. She leaves a son Joseph D. Schiavone, Jr. and wife Mechelle of Spencer; three daughters, Cynthia Schiavone and her husband David Trifone of Palm Coast, FL, Ann Boisvert and her husband Dennis of Grafton and Catherine Blanchard and her husband John of Southbridge; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Robert Perry of Auburn and a sister, Irene M. Cox of Worcester, her dear friend of 30 years, Shirley Parsons with whom she lived; many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter Christine Schiavone in 1972, a sister, Doris Cronin and two brothers, Bill and Franny Perry.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Wilfred and Teresa (Robinson) Perry and attended St. Peter's School for 12 years, graduating in 1949. She worked at the Telegram & Gazette prior to her marriage and starting her family. She later worked at Goretti's Supermarket for 18 years as a produce manager. Most recently, Ann was a receptionist at the Christopher House for the last five years retiring in 2008. She was a longtime and active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church where she was a member of the Women's Guild for 50 years, former president for 18 years and worked in the bingo kitchen for 40 years.
The funeral will be held on Friday, June 12 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Thursday, June 11 from 5-7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
