WORCESTER
Ann T. Sweeney of Worcester died Mon. March 5 in the Christopher House. She leaves several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.. Three brothers, Miles E., Francis P., and Thomas C. and two sisters, Mary J. Conway and Alice M. Foley, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Bartholomew and Nora T. (Scully) Sweeney and graduated from St. Vincent School of Nursing and received a bachelors degree from Boston College and served as a Army Nurse during WWII.
Ann was a nursing supervisor for several VA Hospitals, including Boston and W. Roxbury and retired from the former Rutland VA Hospital in 1978. She was a member of the St. Vincent Hospital Nursing Assoc., Boston College Alumni, retired State and Federal Employees Assoc., Worcester County Nurses Assoc., Worcester Diocesan Council of Catholic Nurses and St. Stephen's Church.
The funeral will be held Wed., March 7, from Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
