Ann-Wha Jennifer Wei, a beloved optometrist, talented artist, and cherished member of her community, passed away on November 29, 2024, at the age of 39. Born on August 3, 1985, in Seattle, Washington, “Jennifer” was known for her warmth, intelligence, and commitment.
After spending many formative years in Taiwan, Jennifer finished high school in Seattle, and entered the University of Washington for college. She worked for a year after college in an optometry practice in Seattle, and she liked optometry so much that she moved to Boston, Massachusetts, in order to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry. She graduated in 2013, and worked as an associate optometrist for a number of years before buying Holden Eye Care from Dr. Joseph D’Amico in December of 2019. She and her husband, Brendan Trombly, worked very hard together to carry on Dr. D’Amico’s strong tradition of care and service.
Jennifer's career as an optometrist allowed her to touch countless lives through her dedicated service and expertise. Jennifer's artistic spirit was also a source of inspiration and delight to many. She was a skilled knitter of scarves, socks, and sweaters, and she had recently tapped back into her affinity and talent for drawing and painting. She loved to hike Mt. Wachusett and to play tennis, and was always fond of taking her beloved dog M.O. for walks in the New England Botanical Garden.
Jennifer leaves behind many who love her and who will miss her dearly, including her loving husband, Brendan M. Trombly of Holden, and his entire extended family; her devoted parents, Ching-Ling and Cheryl Wei of Taiwan; and her sister, Stephany Wei, her brother-in-law, Train Chiou, and her niece, Isla Chiou, of Washington. Jennifer leaves a legacy of love for art and nature, and of dedication to her profession and to her family. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
Funeral services were held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a local charity in Jennifer’s memory.
