WorcesterAnna E. (Kissell) Congdon 97, of 11 Lake Ave. died Friday (May 16) in the University Commons Nursing Center, after an illness.
Her husband Robert Congdon died several years ago. She leaves a daughter, Julia E. Lacey of Worcester; a brother; William J. Kissell of Worcester; a sister, Agnes Herr of Worcester; two grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A son Joseph O'Leary, three brothers, Peter Kissell, James Kissell, Gustaf Kissell, and two sisters Mary Stevens and Helen Daniels, all pre-deceased her. She was born in Pennsylvania, daughter of Ignas and Mary (Volungus) Kissell.
She was a Spinner for McDonald's Woolen Mills in Grafton for several years, retiring many years ago. She was a member of Notre Dame Church.
A Funeral will be held Monday (May 19) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St.(www.faybrothers.com) with a Mass at 9:30 in Notre Dame Church 5 Salem Square. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Sunday (May 18) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
