WORCESTER- Anna Rita Bronzo, 88, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023 at the Coleman House surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Worcester on February 8, 1935 a daughter of the late, Peter and Beatrice S. (Army) Lescord. She was raised in Worcester and worked for many years at the former Big D Supermarket, The Fair and Astra Pharmaceutical Company.
Mrs. Bronzo enjoyed cooking for friends and family and made the best soups, pasta and meatballs. She loved trying her luck on scratch tickets, bingo and with trips to Foxwoods. Many special memories were made with her children on family trips to the beach in the summers. Above all her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her and they will miss her tremendously.
She leaves behind three loving children, Norma Jean Cozzolino and her husband, Jimmy of Worcester; Dennis N. Bronzo and his wife, Sandy of Ayer and John A. Bronzo and his wife, Georgeanne of Dudley; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Angela, Tara, Julie, Gia, John Jr., and Alyssa,; nine great grandchildren, Briannah, Julia, Jaelyn, Timothy, Ava, Jason, Gwen, Jacob and Thomas; her sister, Jeanine Smith; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides her parents, Anna Rita is reunited with her daughter, Cindy Marie Bronzo who died in 1981; her grandson, Stephen Paul Cozzolino; her siblings, Sheila Norton, Peter Lescord Jr., Emma Chitwood, Dolores (Dolly) Horne, Audrey Westberg, Sharline Suffil, Sandra Wiggins and Richard “Okey” Lescord.
She was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart - St. Catherine of Sweden Church in Worcester.
Family and friends will celebrate her life with visiting hours on Friday, December 1st from 4-6pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral service will begin at 6pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers her family asks that memorial donations be considered to the American Cancer Society.
