Anne-Marie (Terrio) Benson, 56, of 44 Browning Road, died peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday night, February 6th in UMASS Memorial Hospital after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 35 years, William R. Benson, Jr.; her children, Jennifer A. & her husband Brain Nerney of Scituate, Rhode Island, William R. Benson III & his fiance’ Alexis Rochefort of Bricktownship, New Jersey and Stephanie L. Benson & her friend, Jonathan Lydecker of Manchester, Connecticut; a grandson, William J. Nerney; her brothers, William Terrio of Scotsdale, Arizona and Timothy Terrio of Sarasota, Florida; her sisters, Kathleen O’Leary of Mashpee, Patricia O’Neil of Worcester and Margaret Lawler of Paxton; many nieces & nephews; Anne-Marie was born in Worcester daughter of the late William and Eileen (Preston) Terrio and has lived in Shrewsbury over 30 years. She graduated from Saint Peter’s High School and Salter Secretarial School.
Mrs. Benson was a pre-school teacher at The First Parish Nursery School in Berlin, retiring in August 2002 due to illness. Previously, she had been a pre-school teacher at Becker College.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM Tuesday, February 10th in The Church of Saint Andrew the Apostle, 30 Spaulding Street, Worcester. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
