Anthony F. DeCesare 74, of 21 Falcon St. died Sunday, July 11, in UMass Memorial Medical Center-Belmont St. Campus.
He leaves his wife of 25 years, Mary-Alice (Couillard) DeCesare; a son, Petty Officer 3rd Class, Justin A. DeCesare, of San Diego, CA; a daughter, Laura L. DeCesare of Plymouth; a sister, Patricia LeFebvre of Clinton and nieces and nephews. A sister, Marguerite Pacesas, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Francis A. and Eleanor E. (Freel) DeCesare. He attended Saint John's High School and graduated from Clinton High School, Pennsylvania Military Academy and received his masters degree in Education and a masters degree in Educational Administration, both from Worcester State College.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. DeCesare was the Founder, Director and Head Master of the former Oxford Academy in Northborough for many years before retiring, prior to that he taught in Oxford Public Schools.
He was a member of the Clinton Lodge of Elks %231306 and an advocate for academically talented students.
The Funeral will be held Thursday, July 15, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling Hours are Wednesday, July 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
