WORCESTER- Anthony L. Sereti, 82, passed away Thursday, September 30.
Tony was born in Worcester, son of Antonio and Mildred (LaBombard) Sereti and attended Worcester Boys Trade School. He grew up on Coes Pond from the age of 2, where his family owned a boat and tackle shop and it was truly a blessing and fitting that he passed away in the Rose Monahan Hospice House on Coes Pond, completing his life's journey at a place he so loved.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Susan M. (Robbins) Sereti; six children, Carole J. Little and her husband, Keith of Huntsville, TX, Anthony L. Sereti, Jr. and his wife, Lori of Shrewsbury, Angela M. Turner and her husband, Joseph of Townsend, Rosemary J. Sereti and her husband, Joseph M. Hearl, Jr. of Washington, DC, Matthew H. Sereti and his wife, Pamela of Worcester and Gina M. Gaudet and her husband, Rodney of Fitchburg; eleven grandchildren, Vincent, Victoria, Melissa, Anthony, Michael, Gino, Marie, Joey, Marisa, Nikki and Brayden; two great-grandchildren, Wesley and Sally Jane and two on the way; a brother Michael H. Sereti and his wife, Jennifer Russo of Boylston; a sister, Evelyn E. Valerio and her husband, Thomas of Clinton and nieces and nephews.
Tony worked for 60 years in the construction industry, retiring as a crew foreman at the Robert J. Devereaux Corporation of Boston, MA. He was a member of Christ the King Church and the Knights of Columbus. After retirement, he enjoyed living in Zephyrhills, FL with his wife, fishing, attending classic car shows and time spent at the Worcester Senior Center. Tony had a great circle of friends and in earlier years loved playing cards and horseshoes, but was most proud of his family and especially loved his grandchildren.
Visiting Hours are Tuesday, October 5, from 4 to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 6 at 11am in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice House c/o the VNA Care and Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, 01608.
