WORCESTER-Ardemis (Megerdichian) Ovian, 99, passed away in her home on Tuesday, March 5.
Her husband of 20 years, Lawrence Ovian died in 1971. She leaves three sons, Larry R. Ovian and his wife, Vanessa of Burlington, Bob S. Ovian and his wife, Anne of Fort Myers, FL and Richard E. Ovian of Worcester; four grandchildren, Tahleen C. Shamlian and her husband, Steven, Nishan E. Ovian and his wife, Kara, Zaven L. Ovian and Robert S. Ovian and his fiancee, Katalyna Martinez; four great-grandchildren, Shahan, Aren, Sonny and Isaac; a brother, Edward Merian of Whitinsville and nieces and nephews, Three siblings, Agnes, John and Suren predeceased her. She was born in Newton, daughter of Manoog and Almas (Kinoian) Megerdichian and graduated from Northbridge High School.
Ardemis was the matriarch of her family whose main focus was caring for her children and always putting them first and her family, before herself. She was particularly proud of the fact that she raised her children after her husband’s passing and fulfilled her promise to him of making sure they all received a college education. She was very active in the Worcester Armenian community and was a lifetime member of her church and its woman’s guild. Ardemis also loved baking for her family and friends.
Visiting Hours are Wednesday, March13 from 10 to 11am followed by a Funeral Service at 11am in Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove Street. Following the Mercy Meal in the Church Hall the Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Northbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to her church, a place she so loved.
