Arsene “Jake” G. Bajakian, 87, of Framingham, passed away on September 21, 2024. Born in Fitchburg, MA, he was the son of Celia (Najarian) and Suren Bajakian, a survivor of the 1915 Armenian Genocide.
Jake proudly served his country as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army. During his service, Jake earned a reputation for his leadership and dedication to his unit.
Professionally, Jake had a long and accomplished career in engineering. He obtained a master’s degree in electrical engineering and spent the majority of his career with Raytheon. He was a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and served as Chairman of the ADCOM Reliability Section.
Jake was an avid runner, swimmer, and cyclist, enjoying an active lifestyle throughout his life. He spent much of his time with family at his summer home on Cape Cod. He was also a voracious reader of history and literature.
Jake was engaged in Masonic activities and served as a Past Master of the Waltham Lodge. Additionally, he was a dedicated member of Framingham's Town Meeting for over 20 years, serving his community with the same passion he brought to his professional and personal endeavors.
Most of all, Jake valued and loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Harriet; his son, Dr. Mark Bajakian, his daughter, Danielle Bajakian, MD and her husband, Robert Lookstein, MD and his beloved granddaughters, Olivia and Charlotte. He is pre-deceased by his brother-in-law, Robert Samuelian. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Alice and Edward.
A private Funeral Service was held at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home. The burial was at Hope Cemetery.
