March 1, 1948 — January 2, 2020

WORCESTER - Arthur F. Falcon, 71, completed his life's journey on January 2, 2020, at St. Vincent's Hospital, Worcester, MA, with the love of his life, Mickie, and his daughter, Jenn by his side. He was born on March 1, 1948, in Lawrence, MA, the son of the late Arthur S. and Grace (Sousa) Falcon. He was a first-generation Portuguese-American, with both sides of his family having come from the Azores and Madeira. He was active in the Portuguese community while growing up in Lawrence.

Art was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1965. He was also a graduate of Northern Essex Community College, class of 1967, earning an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts.

Following in his father's footsteps, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam, where he was wounded in action. He was awarded the Purple Heart twice, a Bronze Star and two commendations for his wounds and his bravery.

Again following in his father's footsteps, Art joined the US Postal Service, working as a mail carrier for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2013. He had made many friends along his route, and his hard work and diligence were richly rewarded by the kind words, gifts and thanks from his customers.
He was a wonderful companion, father and brother, Art was fun, creative, and had a great sense of humor. He and his family loved playing jokes on each other. Over his lifetime, he had many interests, including taxidermy, photography, fishing with his Dad and later his daughters, sharing his love of the outdoors with his daughters, and traveling to Hilton Head with his love, Mickie.

Besides his parents, Art was predeceased by his grandparents, Manuel and Rosa Sousa and James and Mary Falcon.
Art leaves behind his life partner of many years and recent caretaker, Michelina (Mickie) Paulson of Worcester, MA. He is also survived by his daughters, Jennifer "Jenn" Falcon of Worcester, MA, and Dr. Rachael Falcon of Cedar Crest, NM; his sister, Rosemary Falcon Audette and her husband, David Audette of Merrimack, NH, his aunt, Mary Falcon Arsenault and her husband ,Roy of Hingham, MA, along with many cousins, close friends and fellow Vietnam Veterans.
