Artin A. Melkonian

Shrewsbury-Artin A. Melkonian, 86, passed away Thursday, September 10 at UMass Memorial Healthcare.

His wife of many years, Meline (Vartanian) Melkonian died in 1986. He leaves two sons, Verge Melkonian and his wife, Rose Marie and George Melkonian and his wife, Julie of Boca Raton, FL; a daughter, Berjouhie wife of Henri Sayegh of Shrewsbury; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Artin was born in Antab, Turkey the son of Artin and Maria Melkonian. He was a member of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church. He was a self employed jeweler and goldsmith.

The funeral will be held Monday, September 14 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester with a funeral service at 12:00 PM at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove St., Worcester. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Visiting hours will be Sunday, September 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Dahngark service to be held during the visitation.
