West Boylston
Arturo DeSanti 89, of 6 Yale Ave. died Thursday (August 8) at the Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 66 years, Veranda A. (Renzoni) DeSanti, a son Raymond J. DeSanti of West Boylston, a daughter, Jeanne S. Pesso of Northboro, two brothers, Claudino DeSanti of West Boylston and Louis DeSanti of McLean, VA, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. A Son Ernest A. DeSanti of Oswego, NY died in 1994. He was born in West Boylston son of Antonio and Maria (Andrucci) DeSanti. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and fought in the Battle of Bulge and received a purple heart.
He was part-owner of Bonci & DeSanti Package Store in West Boylston retiring in 1978.
He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Veteran of Foreign War Post %236907, the Harold N. Keith American Legion Post %23204 and a former member of the West Boylston Bowling League and was an avid card player.
A Funeral will be held Saturday (Aug10) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home (www.faybrothers.com) 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. A Calling Hour will be held Saturday (Aug.10) from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to West Boylston Fire and Ambulance Fund 39 Worcester St. or Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 Worcester St. both West Boylston 01583
