Avis A. (Chandler) Slevin 91, formerly of Oakland St. died peacefully on Monday, Jan. 5, in the Christopher House.
Her husband of 56 years, Leo V. Slevin died in 1994. She leaves three sons, James C. Slevin of Worcester, Daniel L. Slevin of Sandwich, and Robert V. Slevin of Worcester; a daughter, Nancy M. Kwederis of Shrewsbury; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. Two sons, David T. Slevin died in 1950 and Edward M. Slevin died in 1991. She was born in Marlborough, daughter of Wiley E. and Gertrude H. (Green) Chandler.Mrs. Slevin was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and its Thursday Afternoon Club. She was also a Leader in the Campfire Girls for over 20 years.
A Funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, from LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Wednesday, Jan. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
