Barbara L. (Ritchie) Bombard, 74, of 63 Brantwood Rd. died Wednesday, March 8, at home.

She leaves her husband of 52 years, William J. Bombard; three sons, Thomas W. and his wife Lia Bombard of Florence, Michael J. and his wife Diane Bombard of Holden and Timothy P. and his wife Jacqueline Bombard of Worcester; a daughter, Pamela A. and her husband Brian Boyle of Dudley; two brothers, William and his wife Pricilla Ritchie of Rhode Island and James and his wife Marg Ritchie of Brewster; a sister, Jeanne and her husband Ernie Johnson of Auburn; eight grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was born in New Haven, CT, daughter of James and Leona (Lanza) Ritchie and graduated from South High School.

Barbara worked for Greater Media for several years, before retiring. She was a member of the South High 49ers and an avid bridge player and belonged to the Cavendish Club. Barbara used her tremendous artistic talents to create beautiful things for her family and friends. Some of the media she worked in was, quilting, water color, oils, pastels, acrylics, therum, seamstress, needlepoint, block printing, stenciling, wood carving, punch and cut lampshades, scissors snipping, arts and crafts shows and the art editor of the Index and Yearbook at South High School. She also did the illustrations during her illness for, The Squabbit at the Abbey, a book written by her sister.

The funeral will be held Friday, March 11, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052, Pleasant St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling Hours, are Thursday, March 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, UMASS Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln St. Worcester 01605 or to the Salvation Army, 630 Main St., Worcester, 01608.
