Barbara M. O&%2339;Connor

WORCESTER- Barbara M. (Schnare) O'Connor, 81, formerly of 1341 Pleasant Street died peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, surrounded by her children. She was predeceased by her husband , James P. Sr. , of 47 years., and son in law William R. Hayes. She is survived by her five children, James P O'Connor, Jr. of Worcester, Thomas F. O'Connor of West Boylston, Nancy A. Poirier and her husband James of Rutland, Patricia M. Hayes of Auburn, and Judith A. Lowe and her husband Christopher of Brimfield. Barbara also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Jeffrey W. Hayes and his wife Cheryl A. of Auburn, Susan M. Hayes of Auburn, Karen A. Poirier and soon to be husband, John F. Jones of Feeding Hills, Laura L. Poirier of Rutland, Jared B.Christopher M. and Kylie M. Lowe all of Brimfield and a close companion, Angelo Rucci. Barbara also leaves behind three great grandchildren.



Barbara was born in Worcester, the daughter of Gordon and Mona (Snair) Schnare. She attended Commerce High. After raising her children, she worked at Clark University food service for many years. She loved vacationing in Maine and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic who spent much time reading the Bible and religious books. Barbara enjoyed being a part of home movies especially "Grandma's Secret Recipe".

A Funeral will be held Saturday, October 9, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. John's Church 40, Temple St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A visiting hour will be held Saturday, October 9, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the funeral home.
