RUTLAND-Barbara C. (Blake) Russo, 76, of 106 Main Street, formerly of West Boylston, died Tuesday, August 16 in St. Vincent Hospital.
Her husband of 49 years, Rocco J. Russo died in 1996. She leaves three sons, Michael J. and his wife Mary Russo of Rutland, John F. and his wife Eileen Russo of Northbridge and Steven M. and his wife Julie Russo of Worcester, a daughter, Nancy A. wife of Paul Willson of Rutland, her mother, Evelyn (Savory) Blake of Holden, a sister, Beverly Armstrong of Holden, several grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother James Blake.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Henry Blake and graduated from Commerce High School. Barbara enjoyed working at Ann's Coffee Shop in West Boylston for several years and was a resident of the town for 37 years where she was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Nascar. Barbara also enjoyed reading, gardening, birdwatching and going for Sunday drives with Rocco.
The funeral is Thursday, August 18 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston. Burial is in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. A calling period will be held from 9:00 until 9:40 AM the morning of the funeral in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Central Mass Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
