Barbara Bigelow Sylvester

Barbara Bigelow (Lovell) Sylvester, 85, formerly of 128 North Main St. died Wed., April 9, in Radius Healthcare Center. Her husband George M. Sylvester died in 1986. She leaves three sons, George C. and his wife, Phyllis of West Boylston, William J.O. and his fianc%C3%A9, Deborah Brunck of Rutland and Robert M. and his wife Kathie of Palmer; a brother, Frank F. and his wife, Josephine Lovell of West Boylston; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister in law, Ruth Lovell of West Boylston; two former daughters in law, Susan H. Sylvester of Tilton, NH and Susan M. Flynn of Worcester and nieces and nephews. A brother, John P. Lovell and three sisters, Eileen M. Notaro, Joan Karras and Ann Lovell predeceased her. She was born in Oakdale on March 21, 1923, daughter of Frank F. Lovell, Sr. and Helen (Powers) Lovell and graduated from Major Edwards High School.
Barbara was a Nurse's Assistant at Oakdale Nursing Center for many years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and its Women's Club. She was a Den Leader for Pack 151, Cub Scouts in West Boylston.
The funeral will be held Mon., April, 14, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 W. Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Sun., April 13, from 2 to 5 PM at the funeral home.
