EAST BROOKFIELD: Beatrice L. (Monroe) Power, 94, of South Street and formerly of Worcester died on Wednesday, December 27 in her home after a long illness.

   Her husband of 52 years, Calvin R. Power died in 2007.  She leaves a son James A. Power and his partner Joseph LaCourt of Manchester, CT, a daughter Pamela Turpin of East Brookfield, two grandchildren: Michael J. Reynolds and Megan L. Turpin, a great grandson Zach and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by brothers; Robert and Russell Monroe and sisters; Sharon Brunnelle, Shirley Monroe Nichols

   Beatrice was born in Worcester, daughter of Albert J. and Mabel L. (Christianson) Monroe.  She was a dietary aide for many years at Providence House Nursing Home and St. Vincent Hospital before retiring.  She enjoyed all Boston sports teams but was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, she would take the train to Boston as a teenager to go to games by herself.  She enjoyed baking and was a talented cake decorator all the neighborhood kids wanted her to make their birthday cakes.  Beatrice and Calvin loved to dance and go to country music festivals and play cards with their friends.  She was a member of the East Brookfield Senior Center.

   A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2 from 10:00-11:30 AM in Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester followed by burial in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
