Bernadette M. (Carney) Butler, of 22 Carol Dr. died Thursday (November 28) at UMASS Memorial Medical Center-University Campus, Worcester after an illness.

Her husband, Kenneth J. Butler died in 1976. She leaves a son, Richard J. Butler of West Boylston and a daughter, Maureen E. Marcotte of Derry, NH, a grand-daughter, a great-grandson, and several nephews and nieces. A sister, Mary M. Glennon of Worcester died in 1970. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Bernard J. and Adeline (McGovern) Carney. She graduated from Commerce High School.

She worked for Melville Shoe Company in Worcester for several years retiring years ago.She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and its Woman's Club, the West Boylston Woman's Club, Friends of Beaman Library, and the Retreat League of The Passionist Community Calvary Retreat Center in Shrewsbury.

A Funeral will be held Monday (Dec.2) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St.(www.faybrothers.com) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling Hours are Sunday (Dec.1) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
