WORCESTER: Bernard R. Zuidema, 84, died on Wednesday, December 20 in Odd Fellows Home after an illness.
He leaves three sons: Todd Zuidema of Worcester, Scott Zuidema and his wife Donna of South Grafton and Craig Zuidema and his wife Donna of Maine, a daughter Dawn Daigle of West Brookfield, a brother Kenneth Zuidema and his wife Janet of Northbridge, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Nancy (Carlson) Zuidema and his first wife Carol E. (Reynolds) Zuidema.
Bernard was born in Brookfield, son of Albert and Eleanor (Holmes) Zuidema. He graduated from Sutton High School. He was an orderly at Worcester State Hospital for many years before retiring. He always made sure his family was cared for. He was known to be quite the character, always making people laugh and smile no matter what mood you were in. He enjoyed music and taking part in the activities at the Odd Fellows Home and especially looked forward to the monthly family night.
At Bernard's request no funeral services are planned. Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester is directing arrangements.
