Betty Mardirosian

September 8, 1924 — February 21, 2023

Worcester

 

Glenville, NY – Betty Mardirosian, 98, passed away peacefully on 2/21/23 after an eleven day

stay at Glendale Home.  Her daughter Judy was there at her side after a brief illness followed

by covid.  She was the beloved wife for 62 years to the late Harry Mardirosian Sr.  God blessed

her with her son Harry Mardirosian Jr. and his late wife Carolyn of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her

daughter Judy Nault and husband Daniel of Glenville, NY; five grandchildren, 17 great

grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  Her brother, Leo Gardarian, and sister Roxie

Avakian predeceased her.

 

Betty was born and lived in Worcester, MA for 85 years.  She was a bookkeeper for Protective

Union Groceries for a few years, then at Rome Specialties for 25 years.  She volunteered at

Hahnemann Hospital for 25 years, was a member of the Armenian Church of the Martyrs and was

active in the Friendly Circle Womens Group. 

 

Betty was extremely loving and proud of her family creating a warm and caring home

environment.  She did an exceptional job keeping her family organized, eating healthy, hosting

many family get togethers and having fun family vacations.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting,

sewing, baking and especially walking.  Betty and Harry made many trips to visit Harry and

Carolyn in California, Arkansas and Oklahoma.  They enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and spending

winters in Cocoa Beach Florida with family and friends visiting.  In 2009 Harry and Betty moved

to Glenville, NY where shortly after Harry Sr. passed.  Being a strong woman Betty’s new life

was full of friends and family, playing cribbage at the Senior Center and YMCA exercise classes.

She will be missed by many. 

 

A visiting hour will be held at 10 am on March 2 at the Armenian Church of the Martyrs,

22 Ormond Street, Worcester MA followed by a funeral service at 11 am.  Memorial

contributions may be made to the Armenian Church of the Martyrs at the address above.

Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.  Arrangements are in the care of Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral
