Betty L. (Carlson) Steele, 83 , of Worcester died Wednesday, Jan., 25, surrounded by her loving family in UMASS Memorial Hospital.
Her husband of 53 years, Edward H. Steele died in 2004. She leaves three daughters, Karen E. Steele of Auburn, Sally A. and her husband Douglas P. Davini of Worcester and Lori J. and her husband John Chernisky of W. Springfield; a sister, Carolyn and her husband John Brigham of Sutton; two grandchildren, Douglas P. Davini II and Danielle Steele Davini both of Worcester; her sister and brother in law, Ruth and Norman Burgoyne of Worcester and nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Henry and Clara (Becker) Carlson and graduated from Commerce High School.
Betty worked at Norton Co. retiring several years ago. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and very much loved by her family. She was a life long member of Quinsigamond United Methodist Church. She very much enjoyed cooking and most off all spending time with her family. She loved vacationing on Cape Cod and the coast of Maine.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. in Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St., Worcester, 01607. LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. is directing arrangements.
