WORCESTER – Beverly Anne (Derby) Beauvais, 85 of Worcester passed away peacefully Thursday, July 17, 2020. Angels assisted Beverly in attaining her salvation mercifully ending her battle with heart disease at Saint Vincent hospital. Beverly's family was so grateful that she was not affected by Covid 19. She was the cherished wife of the late Robert D. Beauvais to whom she was married to for fifty years.
Beverly was born on April 28, 1935 a daughter of the late Francis and Thelma (Hale) Derby. She graduated from Commerce High School and later met and married Bob. She contracted polio and was quarantined for several months. Her handsome Marine husband visited every week hitchhiking from USMC base in North Carolina to see her through the small opening.
Beverly had a great love of God's creation. She loved watching the birds at her feeder and planting flowers. She would often be seen with a purple stripe in her hair and in her "Life is Good" tee shirts and truly believed this is how life should be lived. Those that knew her loved this most about her. She was a strong woman and a breast cancer survivor. She was the Treasurer for the Worcester CROP Walk for many years. Bev and Bob were gardeners, beekeepers and members of the Worcester County Beekeepers Association and Spencer Fair. She was an active church member in the Methodist churches her entire life. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, Memorial Fund, United Methodist Women, choir member, Kids Cafe and innumerable other church activities at Aldersgate UMC. Together they quietly carried out the mission of the church as Christ's hands and feet on earth. She spent her life providing a loving home for her husband and their three children. She loved to take the family on beach vacations like Misquamicut and Martha's Vineyard.
She will be greatly missed by many, especially her children, Lori A. Bergman and her spouse, Carl, of Shrewsbury, Robert F. Beauvais and his spouse, Susan, of Worcester, Dale E. Schnorf and her spouse, Paul, her sister Joyce Derby Beauvais and spouse Charles, of Westminster. She cared for her beloved grandchildren, Benjamin Schnorf, Jason Bergman, Brian and Matthew Beauvais and Chelsea Schnorf Zementowski. She is predeceased by her grandchildren, Jesse and Rebecca Bergman. She had six great grandchildren Cassidy, Amelia, Madeline, Owen, Jack and Seth.
There will be a celebration of Beverly's life for family and friends on Thursday, July 30 at the Callahan, Fay and Caswell Life Celebration Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester at 10:00am. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm, in the funeral home, with the burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer.
