WORCESTER-Brendan J. Moriarty, 27, of Worcester lost his battle with addiction on Friday, January 21.
He leaves his loving parents, Philip J. and Sharon A. (Hevey) Moriarty; his sister, Rowan K. Moriarty of Boston; his grandfather, Alfred Hevey of Worcester; his Godfather, George Papadinis; aunts and uncles, Eileen and her husband, Steven Sears, Maureen Tamburro, Gregory and his wife, Rita Hevey and Paul Moriarty; cousins, Ashley Hevey, Chelsey Ezell, Brian Sears, Sharon Sears, Regina Sears, Rob Moriarty, and Kat Moriarty and many life-long friends. He was born in Worcester and graduated from Doherty Memorial High School and Suffolk University.
Brendo, as he was known to family and friends, was a medical assistant/trauma tech and held positions at UMASS Memorial Hospital, Boston Medical Center and Reliant Healthcare. He also worked with Hargrove Landscaping for many years. Brendo was a natural athlete. For many years, he played ice hockey, basketball and lacrosse. He was an avid golfer and loved following all four Boston sports teams. He enjoyed helping others and volunteering, especially at Friendly House.
Visiting Hours are Saturday, January 29 from 11:00am to 2:00pm with a Prayer Service at 1:30pm in Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Friendly House to support their mission at www.friendlyhousema.org
