WORCESTER-Bridget E. (Daley) Horgan, 91, died Mon., Feb. 20 at Radius Healthcare of Worcester. She was the wife of the late Stephen P. Horgan who died in 1953. Mrs. Horgan was born and raised in Worcester the daughter of Florence and Bridget (McCarthy) Daley. She graduated from the former Commerce High School and was a life long resident of Worcester. After her husband's death she worked as a school matron for the Worcester School Department retiring in the early 1970's.
She is survived by her children, Michael A. Horgan of Northboro, Stephen P. Horgan of Naples, FL, Dolores Burden of Gambrill, MD and Racina Benoit of Shrewsbury. She was also the mother of the late Mary Ann (Horgan) Baker, and the grandmother of the late Brett Horgan. She leaves 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Bridget was a life long Christian and a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Shrewsbury. She was an avid traveler having made several trips to Ireland, Germany, France and England during her retirement years. Bridget will always be remembered by her family and friends for her smile, laughter and encouraging words.
The funeral will be held Friday, February 24 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at St. John's Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, February 23 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
