WORCESTER- Bruce P. Quist, 67, formerly of Sacco, ME and West Boylston passed away on Tuesday, May 7.
Bruce was born in Worcester, the son of the late George and Marjory (Anderson) Quist and spent his childhood in West Boylston at the Quist family home and attended Assumption Prep School and later moving to Sacco to care for his parents.
He leaves behind two brothers George Quist of Westborough and brother Kenneth Quist and his longtime girlfriend Janice Magdis of West Boylston; a niece Kristina Nunnari and her family of Rutland; a friend, Marc Hurley and many others in the Worcester and Sacco, ME areas. A sister, Cyntia Quist passed away at birth.
Bruce had many special interests, including antiques, building model ships, fishing, a love for the ocean, and an even bigger love for nature itself, which is where Bruce felt most at home. Bruce was down to earth and easygoing. He could make a conversation with anyone and never let the negativity of the world bother him. Bruce enjoyed working and caring for his parents for many years in Sacco. He helped in the best ways he could by taking care of them, providing them with companionship and a feeling of safety. Later in life, Bruce moved back to Massachusetts. Bruce will be missed for his genuine character, carefree spirit, and unique soul.
Visiting Hours are Thursday, May 23 from 4 to 6 pm at Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. A Private Funeral Service and Burial will be held in Mount Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to The Greater Worcester Land Trust at www.gwlt.org
