Bruno D. Dellasanta

November 27, 1929 — September 4, 2021

WEST BOYLSTON-Bruno Dominic Dellasanta, 91, a lifelong resident of West Boylston, died Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence.

He was born in West Boylston, son of Ercole and Irene (Brualdi) Dellasanta and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, receiving two bronze stars. Bruno retired from Local 243 Laborers Union after many years, having worked on many bridge projects throughout his career. Bruno was a longtime member of St. Christopher's Church, the former VFW Post 6907 and the Greendale Retired Men's Club.

He was an avid outdoor sportsman; enjoying fishing, hunting and playing golf. He loved celebrating at the end of a round of golf at "Bruno's Private Nineteenth Hole" with his brother Louie and their golf buddies. He enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and watching old movies. Bruno also loved his trips to the casino and traveling with Chris and their friends. He was a sports enthusiast following his favorite teams, Boston Red Sox and N.E. Patriots, and watching the pro golf tournaments.

Spending time with family was important to Bruno. Whether our large family gatherings, a day trip to the casino, or just a stop for a coffee, he was there. He was kind and generous and he was always ready to help wherever needed... house projects, baking, fixing your golf swing(!) or teaching his secret spaghetti sauce recipe. He was there to offer an ear or a big UB bear hug, or to give advice about whatever was on your mind, he cared and wanted to help.

He leaves his brother, Louis Dellasanta and his sister, Ann Desroches, both of West Boylston, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ken and Ellen Hultgren, many nephews and nieces who will sorely miss their beloved "UB". He also leaves many golf buddies and the coffee shop crew.

Bruno was predeceased by his wife of 43 years Priscilla "Chris" (Sutton) Dellasanta in 2008. Bruno was also predeceased by his sister, Esther Burgess, two brothers, Harry and Thomas Dellasanta, and his first wife, Marie (Ritacco) Dellasanta.
