WORCESTER-Candido A. Carrasquillo, 94, died Thursday, February 20, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital.
He was born in Vieques, Puerto Rico, son of Eleuterio and Cecilia (Alvarez) Carrasquillo. Mr. Carrasquillo, aka Cano, lived in New York City for many years prior to moving to Worcester 11 years ago, where he was a resident at Greenhill Towers and most recently at the Lutheran Home.
Candido was predeceased by his loving longtime wife, Gregoria Ortiz in 2008. He is survived by his stepchildren; Emelia Bonefont of Worcester MA, Carmen Lazarini of East Meadow NY, and Eugene Cepeda of Brooklyn NY. He also leaves his grandchildren including Elizabeth Acevedo, Rosemarie Acevedo, Virginia Moreira, Gloria Anderson, Eugene Agosto, Joseph Quinones, David Bonefont, Raphael Bonefont, Christine Bonefont, Nicole Cepeda, Dominique Cepeda, Gina Cepeda, Richard Lazarini and Caroline Lazarini as well as nieces and nephews including Elba Torres. Candido was also predeceased by his grandson, Osvaldo Acevedo.
Visiting hours to celebrate and honor Candido's life will be held Sunday, February 23rd from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester Ma 01608. Candido will be laid to rest with his beloved Gregoria on Monday at the Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.
