WEBSTER – Carl A. Anderson, 86, of Webster and formerly of Worcester passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Vibra Hospital, Leicester following a brief illness.
Carl was born and raised in the Quinsigamond Village of Worcester, a son of Carl and Mildred (Werme) Anderson. He graduated from Worcester schools.
Carl was the longtime owner and operator of Ransford Pest Control in Worcester, and continued to work until he was 80 years old. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Joel H. Prouty Lodge of Masons, both in Auburn. For the past 25 years, Carl and his wife, Leona enjoyed living on the shores of Webster Lake. He enjoyed doing odd jobs around the house, including building several projects in the yard. His pride and joy was his lawn. Carl believed than a good-looking lawn spoke volumes. He spent many hours on his lawnmower, making sure every grass blade was just so. Boating and fishing on the lake, as well as biking were summertime pastimes. He also loved to snowmobile in the winter. Carl and Leona also loved to travel, and spent several winters in the Florida Keys.
He will be lovingly missed by his beloved of 22 years, Leona (Balcewicz); his five children, Christine Lane of Greenfield, Terrance Anderson of Oxford, Scott Anderson, Maria A. Richmond and her husband, Eric of Worcester and John Anderson of New York, NY; his four step children, Arthur F. Kann, Jr., L. Caroline, Deborah and Theresa R. Kann; his sister, Marion Johnson of South Yarmouth, many grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Carl during Life Celebration visiting hours on Wednesday, September 19th from 5-7 p.m. at the Lindquist-Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street, Worcester. A service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The members of the Joel H. Prouty Lodge of Masons will gather at 6:45 p.m. for a ritual.
