Carl F. Sundquist, 96, died Sunday May, 16, and his wife of 69 years, Florence (Anderson) Sundquist , 97, died Tuesday, May 18, both in the Clark Manor Nursing Home.

They leave a son, Robert C. Sundquist of Worcester; two grandchildren, William C. Sundquist of Clearwater Beach, Fl. and Shari A. Sundquist of Worcester; several nephews and nieces. Mr. Sundquist leaves a sister Evelyn Nordstrom of Worcester. He is predeceased by two brothers Clarence W. Sundquist and Gustaf F. Sundquist and two sisters, Nancy V. Kasparson and Alice C. Peterson. Mrs. Sundquist is predeceased by six brothers, Edwin Anderson, George Anderson, Alfred Anderson, Emil Anderson, Gustaf Anderson and Carl Anderson and a sister Aida Johnson.

Mr. Sundquist was born in Worcester, son of Fritjof G. and Charlotte J. (Fogde) Sundquist. He worked at U.S. Steel for 38 years retiring in 1972. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, the Morning Star Lodge A.F.& A.M., the Aletheia Grotto, the Swords of Bunker Hill, the U.S. Steel Retirees Club, the Brookfield Seniors Club, the Wagon Wheel Park Association and the Mendelsen Choir. He was also an avid golfer and past member of Packachoag and Bay Path Golf Clubs.

Mrs. Sundquist was born in Worcester, daughter of Emil and Sophia (Forsberg) Anderson. She worked for Anderson and Sundquist Market for 16 years, retiring in 1972.She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, the Eastern Star Revere Chapter %2340, the Brookfield Seniors, the Wagon Wheel Park Association and the Nereid Swimming Club of the YMCA. They lived in Worcester most of their lives moving to Brookfield in 1972.

A Private Graveside Service for Mr. and Mrs. Sundquist will be held Thursday, May 20, at 11:30 a.m. in All Faiths Cemetery, 7 Island Rd., Worcester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Clark Manor Nursing Home, Activity Fund, 1350 Main St. Worcester 01603 or to a charity of choice.
