KEY BISCAYNE, FL.-Carlos M. Baranano, 72, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 12 surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his mother, Amparo (Perera) Baranano of Key Biscayne, FL,; his former wife, Margarita (Padro) Baranano; two sons, Carlos T. Baranano of Worcester and Julio M. Baranano of Lancaster; two daughters, Malu Doherty of Southborough and Ingrid Tolley of Natick; Six grandchildren, Thomas and Kristen Baranano, Matthew and Janine Doherty and Bethany and Madeleine Tolley and his cousin, Isabel Perera of Key Biscayne, FL.

Mr. Baranano was born in Santiago, Cuba the son of Carlos J. and Amparo (Perera) Baranano, and was raised in Manati, Cuba. He graduated from the Jesuit High School of Belen in Cuba, class of 1952. He received his Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering at University of Detroit and his Master's in Business Administration at University of Michigan. Mr. Baranano worked with the Dupont Corporation for 12 years, then later for Nylon Products (Nypro) in Clinton for several years. The following 2 years, Mr. Baranano worked as a consultant and participated in a start up corporation before going to work for Injectronics. He became the sole owner of Injectronics and developed it into one of the country's leading automotive injection molding companies, with several hundred employees. The company's headquarters was in Clinton, Massachusetts with additional manufacturing facilities in Ohio, Michigan and North Carolina as well as an engineering facility in Detroit.

Mr. Baranano was a great believer in education and generously provided education for many people. When the Belen school moved to Miami, FL he became an active alumnus and benefactor to the school. It was with this contribution that Belen built "The Carlos Baranano Technology Center" providing a state of the art computer facility to the campus for the students of Belen. Mr. Baranano enjoyed reading, stamp collecting and traveling as well as being an avid outdoorsman. He was a kind, generous and loving father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Funeral services and burial were private. Arrangements were under the care of CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester, MA.
