WORCESTER- Carlos Amílcar Mena passed away peacefully, surrounded by those he loved, on February 12, 2019 at his home. He was 57.

Carlos was born in Azacualpa, El Salvador on April 12, 1961 a son of Mercedes Alvarenga and the late Carlos Antonio Mena. He was employed for the last 35 years at Komtek Forge where he worked in inspection and maintenance. He had also worked part time at BJ's Wholesale Club as an associate.

His family meant the most to Carlos, and many wonderful memories were made with him through years. His fresh baked scones, bread and Thanksgiving dinners will be missed. He was a religious man and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Worcester for many years. An avid sports fan, Carlos enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots but his first love was the Chicago Bears. Mr. Mena also enjoyed spending time outside especially picking fresh peaches for he and his family to enjoy.

He leaves behind many that will honor and cherish his memory including his wife of 24 years, Maria C. Mena; three children, Christian E., Daniel A., and Emely M. Mena, all of Worcester; his mother, Mercedes Alvarenda de Mena of Leominster; five siblings, Teresa Amaya of Leominster, Rene A. Mena of Springfield, Raul A. Mena of W. Palm Beach, FL., Noemi Orellana of El Salvador and Esmeralda Matias of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on Friday, February 22nd from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A Funeral Service will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, February 23rd at the First Assembly of God Church, 30 Tyler Prentice Rd., Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
