WORCESTER-Carmella A. Monopoli, 82, of Worcester died peacefully on July 18, 2009 at Dodge Park Rest Home.

She was the daughter of the late Mauro and Grazia (Zingarelli) Monopoli and lived in Worcester all of her life. She leaves a sister, Elizabeth Lopardo and her husband Domenic of West Boylston, a brother, Michael Monopoli and his wife Gloria of Lady Lake, FL and a sister-in-law, Marylou Monopoli of Worcester. She is also predeceased by two brothers, Luke and Frank Monopoli. She also leaves her niece and guardian, Carol Blake and her husband Steven of West Boylston and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was a dedicated employee of Howard Bros. of Worcester and Auburn for 35 years and retired in 1994. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Ann Parish and a member of the parish Golden Years Club.

A funeral Mass will be Wednesday, July 22 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Entombment will be in St. John's Mausoleum. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements are under the care of FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, West Boylston.
