In Loving Memory of Carmen M. Rivera

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carmen M. Rivera, who left us on Monday, February 24, 2025. A true warrior—"La Guerrera"—she faced a ten-year battle with cancer, demonstrating incredible strength and resilience until the very end.

A Life of Strength and Determination

Born in Puerto Rico, Carmen overcame tremendous challenges throughout her life. At the age of seven, she was placed with another family to work as a housekeeper and cook. Despite having no formal education, she taught herself to read and write, proving that determination can triumph over circumstance.

Her greatest pride and joy were her three children—Jose, Aris, and Yesenia. She dedicated her life to raising them, striving to give them a better life than she had known. She often said that the day they were born was the happiest day of her life, for it was then that she truly felt loved. That love became her guiding force.

A Heart That Embraced Many

Carmen had a remarkable ability to nurture those around her. Though she had three children, she opened her heart and home to many, treating them as her own. She found joy in cooking, always ensuring that no one around her ever went hungry. Her kitchen was a sanctuary filled with the aromas of her delicious meals, and she took immense pleasure in watching others enjoy her food.

A Legacy of Love and Resilience

Throughout her battle with cancer, Carmen displayed unwavering spirit, inspiring all who knew her with her courage and grace. Her legacy of love, strength, and perseverance lives on through her children, who carry forward the values she instilled in them.

Cherished and Remembered

Carmen leaves behind her beloved children Yesenia, Aris, and Jose, her cherished grandchildren Josh, Johnny, Cilla, Coralys, Yarelis and Luna, along with four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Rafa, Amadeo, Hector, Jose, Violet, Angela, Ivette, Beba, and Carmen.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Aris A. Rivera (who passed away in 2020), her dear sister Magda, and other beloved siblings. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
