Catherine B. (Cox) Gazoorian 97, of Worcester died Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Sterling Healthcare Center.

Her husband, Haig P. Gazoorian died in 1959. She leaves a nephew, Arthur F. Lizotte Jr.; a niece, Jane K. wife of David J. Gouin; a great-nephew, Patrick D. Gouin all of Worcester and several cousins. She was born in Worcester, daughter, of Patrick J. and Bridget A. (Tobin) Cox. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and the Perry Normal School for Teachers in Boston in 1931.

Mrs. Gazoorian taught kindergarten and operated a Nursery School prior to her marriage, later she worked for the Perkins School in Lancaster for many years and then the Westside Nursing Home, retiring in 1987. She was also a longtime caregiver and companion of Irene Talamo until 1988.

A Funeral will be held Saturday, Jan 10, with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
