Catherine "Jean" Lauer (nee O'Brien) passed away peacefully at her Briarwood home on Monday afternoon, August 8, 2016.

Jean was born in Chicopee on September 24, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph and Cecilia(Hickey) O'Brien. She was a graduate of Holy Name, Springfield and a former employee of Uniroyal, Chicopee.

She is survived by her three bereaved and devoted sons Gary; Scott and wife Darlene; and Len and wife Beth.

As a loving grandmother, Jean treasured her grandchildren Robert, Jennifer, Hanna, Patrick, Alexandra, Ava, Trent and Chase. She carried her pride in them with her always.

Jean is also survived by her blessed sister-in-law and brother-in-law Beverly (Lauer) and Herald Smith; nieces Shirleen, Gail and Lori; nephews Jeff, Richard, David, Kenneth, Danny and their wonderful families.

Jean felt fortunate to be a twin to her dear sister Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Lareau and a life long friend to Betty's husband Andy; loving sister to her cherished brother Joseph and his wife Kathleen; and loving aunt to their son Joey. All now deceased.

Jean as grandmother, mother, wife, sister and friend has given us all infinite kindness and graciousness that will always remain.
